about

Need And hostility is a project opti has been working on for a lot of time. After the release of his debut Album "The Letter D" in 2010, and it sequel "The Moon Dissolved EP" in 2012, opti's been thinking a lot about his music and his aesthetics.

Need And Hostility is a project which aims at describing the grey area that exists between one's emotional needs and the usual hostility received as a feedback once those needs are expressed. It's been taking one full year in the making and hosts a huge variety of sounds, from accoustic guitars to raging tape echo feedbacks, asian percussion, electric bass guitar, TR-808 and crazy sampling.

opti made the choice to go fully instrumental, taking time to record foley sounds, dig analog synthetizers, and bring everything to life in his own studio. He made everything here, from sounds to mixing to mastering and artwork.

This record is an experience of its own, that puts emotions, personality and feelings in foreground. It received a warm welcome from a lot of musicians, artists and music reviewers, including Jacques Greene, Laurent Garnier, Throwing Snow, Joe Muggs, Iron Galaxy, Submerse, Troy Gunner and a lot more.

After the release of his collaboration with Kid A on Ninja Tune's Technicolor imprint, his various appearances as a DJ and remixer under his recent techno monicker PEEV, and some more collaborations started for 2013, we can assume opti is on a path of his own that should bring more and more listeners to follow his experiments in sound.
